Creating a Report Chart
Axes, calculated metrics, grouping, and comparison.
Last updated 13 days ago
A chart helps you quickly spot trends or compare groups. First, choose what will be displayed on the X-axis: time, status, the team member responsible, the client, or another value offered in the report. Then, select the metric to be calculated, such as the number of records, a total amount, or time spent.
Additional grouping breaks down the results using colors. For example, monthly sales can be grouped by the team member responsible, or by status. If you enable stacking, the groups will be combined into a single column; if disabled, they will appear side-by-side. You can also change the chart type, orientation, legend position, and value labels.
The chart uses the same filters as the table and summary views. After changing a time period or another filter, wait for the chart to refresh. If the view becomes cluttered, reduce the number of categories, select a broader time period, or analyze the results in the table view.
If your report allows for comparisons, choose options with a compatible axis and the same metric. Before drawing conclusions, verify that the time periods, currencies, and status scopes are truly comparable.
