Route planning

Optional arrangement of Tasks into Staff routes, mapping, and optimization.

Last updated 13 days ago

Route planning is an optional feature designed to combine multiple on-site tasks into a single trip. It is displayed only for organizations that have this feature enabled.

Creating a route

The route form specifies the name, date, assignees, and start and end locations. Once saved, you can view the route details and map.

  1. Open the route planning list.
  2. Select Create route.
  3. Enter the name and date.
  4. Select the personnel responsible for the route.
  5. Specify the start and end locations.
  6. Save and add checkpoints.

Adding checkpoints

Checkpoints added to a route must have the necessary addresses for location display and valid dates. Upon addition, the system may synchronize the route's personnel with those assigned to the checkpoint. After removing a checkpoint from the route, check the assignees in the checkpoint card.

Sequencing and optimization

Route Tasks can be reordered. The optimization action calculates directions, travel time, and distance. During the calculation process, the start and end dates for Tasks may be overwritten to align with the route sequence.

Before optimizing:

  • check the addresses for all Tasks;
  • note down the current dates and assigned personnel;
  • use a test route only;
  • review each card after the calculation.

If you do not see the routes menu, contact the Hanna administrator or system provider regarding feature availability, the plan, permissions, and map service settings.
