Project Tasks: Stages and Progress

Work breakdown structure, Gantt chart, phases, and automatic progress tracking.

Create and manage tasks linked to the project in the Tasks tab. The assignee for a Task is not necessarily a project member, and a project member is not automatically assigned to all Tasks.

Stages divide the project into sections. Specify a name, dates, and a color for the stage, then assign Tasks to it. If a stage is removed, the Tasks remain in the project but become unassigned to any stage. If phases are used, stages can be further grouped.

In the Gantt view, choose to group by stages, members, or Tasks statuses. It displays start and deadline intervals as well as logged time. It is most accurate to edit Task data within its specific card.

Project progress can be entered manually or calculated based on Tasks. If using the automatic option, define which Tasks statuses signify completion. Upon a change in project status, the system can generate Tasks from templates or prompt the completion of all existing Tasks.

Create stages based on distinct, completable project segments rather than for every minor action. For Task, specify the start date, duration, assignee, and phase. This ensures consistency across the Gantt chart, automatic progress tracking, and team workload analysis.

If the progress does not reflect reality, check for items not assigned to phases (Tasks), review completion statuses, and verify whether automatic calculation is selected. A manual percentage does not automatically confirm that the Tasks have been completed.
