What you’ll do
Opportunity is designed to manage a specific planned sale from the initial Contact stage through to approval or rejection.
Before you begin
Access to the Opportunities module and the relevant sales process is required. Your role and process settings determine your ability to create, edit, and manage the stages and final actions of the Opportunities.
How to create an Opportunity
- In the main menu, go to Sales → Opportunities.
- Click New record.
- Select the Process and its Stage. The process defines the sales workflow, while the stage indicates the current step within it.
- Enter a clear Name. The number prefix and the number itself form the unique Opportunities identifier.
- In the Related to field, select a Lead or Contact. Depending on system configuration, other objects may also be available for selection.
- Specify the Date, Valid until, Planned value, Frequency, and Currency.
- If known, select the Source, assignees, and tags, and enter a description. 8. Select the applicable commercial terms and PDF display options.
- Add Items or services if calculating the proposal based on line items.
- Click Save.
After saving, open the record and verify the process, stage, client, Contact person, responsible parties, planned value, and Items amount. The stage may trigger automation for Task, emails, or other records, so check the related tabs as well.
In the standard form, the process, stage, title, connection, date, planned value, periodicity, and currency fields are mandatory. The set of fields in your organization may differ due to additional fields, the plan, and module settings.
What the planning fields mean
- Planned value – the projected sales amount. It can be entered manually or calculated from Items line items.
- Valid until – the expiration date of the proposal or Opportunities. Reminders or automation may trigger once the deadline passes.
- Periodicity – one-time, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual value; use according to company forecasting rules.
- Source – the channel from which the Opportunity originated. - Responsible persons – team members assigned to manage the Opportunity; this assignment is used for visibility and report filters.
Editing
Open the Opportunities card and select Actions → Edit. After changing the data, click Save. Changing the customer, currency, or Items does not automatically update documents previously created from Opportunities – please check them separately. If you do not see the action, check your editing permissions and verify whether stage changes are controlled by automation.
