Select Copy Project from the card's Action menu. You can include tasks, their checkpoints, assignees, followers, milestones, project members, and the budget. Specify the new start date, deadline, and the status for the copied tasks.
Copying creates new records. Before confirming, decide whether the original assignees and followers should participate in the new project. After copying, verify the client, dates, members, tasks, milestones, and budget amounts.
Export Project Data prepares a copy of the project information based on your access permissions. Before sharing the file, check that it does not contain personal, financial, or internal data that the recipient should not see.
Use Delete only if the record was created in error and no history is required. Usually, it is safer to select a "Completed" or "Cancelled" status. Creating a related project is not the same as copying: it creates a new, linked project record, the data of which must be verified separately.
Verifying the Copy
When copying a template project, you should usually retain the milestones and tasks but re-evaluate the members, followers, and budget. Dates must align with the start of the new project; Pay particular attention to the terms and recurrences associated with Tasks.
If a copy has been created in error, first ensure that it does not yet contain any logged time, files, or financial documents. Only then should you proceed with deletion. You should also not adopt the project number and client without verifying them first.
