What you’ll do
You will create a Credit Note that precisely specifies the Invoice, Items, or service lines being adjusted, as well as the quantity, price, VAT, and total credit amount.
Before you begin
You need permission to create or edit a Credit Note and access to the Invoices being adjusted. Before creating it, you must be clear about the amount, quantity, or price you are adjusting.
Steps
- Select lines from the Items catalog or enter them manually. Check the code, name, warehouse, quantity, unit of measure, price, and VAT. The credit note must precisely describe the amount, quantity, or price being adjusted. If necessary, select a VAT item, a reverse VAT, or a VAT calculation based on the total amount.
- Notes are for internal use, while the Contact note and Terms can be displayed on the document. Before saving, verify the original Invoice, recipient, date, currency, lines, VAT, and the total amount.
What happens upon saving
Saving creates a Credit Note record with adjustable lines and an amount. Its balance must still be allocated to Invoice according to the selected credit process.
Troubleshooting
Editing may be restricted by a locked financial period, a credit that has already been used, or the integration source. Check the document status and the linked Invoice.
