Time limit for editing and deleting comments

The option Allow editing or deletion of a comment only within the first hour helps maintain a more reliable work history. You can find it under Settings → Comments.

When this setting is enabled, non-administrators are permitted to edit or delete their comments only within the first hour of posting. After this time, the comment remains in the history. A new comment can still be added later.

This rule works in conjunction with comment permissions and authorship. It does not grant additional rights to modify another person's comment. Administrators may have broader permissions.

Enable this limit if comments serve as an important record of actions taken or agreements made. Before applying it to the entire team, test the process internally and—if you use a customer portal—with client accounts.
