What you’ll do
You will create a Proforma Invoice for a selected Contact or Lead, and fill in the Items lines, prepayment, payment term, and terms displayed to the recipient.
Before you begin
You need permission to create or edit a Proforma Invoice, access to the organization and the customer, and a prepared numbering sequence.
Steps
- Check the document number, date, Payment term, salesperson, and currency. Prepayment % or Prepayment indicates the portion requested in advance; the received payment is recorded separately in the Payments section of the card. Notes is an internal field, whereas the Contact note and Terms may appear on the document intended for the recipient.
- Select the Item from the catalog or a set, or enter it manually. For each line, check the code, name, warehouse, quantity, unit of measure, price, VAT, and discount. The options VAT calculate from total amount and Items unit price entered with VAT alter the calculation method; please use them in accordance with your company's accounting policies.
What happens upon saving
Saving creates a Proforma Invoices record. The payment does not appear automatically; please register the received amount in the Payments section.
Troubleshooting
Editing may be restricted due to dispatch, Payment, conversion, or a locked accounting period. In such cases, first check the document status and your permissions.
