Creating Custom Fields and choosing field types
Create Custom Fields, choose suitable types, and preserve existing record values.
Last updated 7 days ago
Custom Fields adapt standard Hanna forms to your process without changing module code. Create one only when a value cannot be stored reliably in a standard field or classifier.
Open System Settings → Custom Fields → New Record. Select the module, enter the field name in Lithuanian and any additional languages in use, choose the type, width, and display order, and save. Object fields may be filtered by another module value. Documents and Tickets may provide type restrictions depending on enabled features.
Common types include short input, number, long text, single select, multi-select, checkbox, date, date and time, colour, and URL. Some modules provide further types such as a System User selector.
The module and type often cannot be changed after values exist. Test the field with sample records first. When a field is no longer required, deactivate it to preserve historical values. Delete only after checking lists, filters, PDFs, imports, reports, and integrations.
