Contacts categories and relations
How to create and administer Contacts types, categories, levels, areas of activity, and address and connection types.
Last updated 20 days ago
The administrator manages the options visible in Contacts forms, filters, and relation creation windows.
Where to manage options
- Open System Settings.
- Expand Contacts.
- Select Types, Categories, Levels, Company Relations, or Individual Relations.
For example, Contacts types could be Customer, Supplier, and Partner; categories could be New or VIP; and a level could be VIP Customer. The specific list of classifiers is determined by the administrator.
Contacts types
The type defines the primary relationship with Contact. It is displayed in the Contact form and used in filters.
- Open System Settings → Contacts → Types.
- Click New record.
- Enter the name in Lithuanian and English.
- Select a color and specify the order.
- Click Save.
The ID is also displayed on the form. Do not change it simply to alter the display order; the Order field is intended for that purpose.
Contacts Categories
This category is intended for internal grouping—for example, for new items, VIPs, or specific Contacts campaigns.
- Go to System Settings → Contacts → Categories.
- Click New record.
- Enter the Lithuanian and English names, the color, and the display order.
- Click Save.
The color helps identify the item, while the display order determines its position in the selection list. The forms for creating types and categories do not include Active or Default Value toggles.
Contacts Levels
Levels are used to describe the importance of a Contact or another scale relevant to your company. Go to System Settings → Contacts → Levels. The list displays the name, color, default status, active status, and display order.
When creating a level, choose a clear name and color, then verify that it appears in the Contact Level field on the new Contact form.
Company Relationships
Company relationships describe the connection between two organizations. The system currently includes Parent Company, Subsidiary, Agency, and Partner.
Create a relationship within the Contact card via Profile → Related Contacts. Select the name based on the relationship of the open Contact to the other Contact. Relationships between parent companies and subsidiaries are directional, so check both sides before saving.
Individual Relationships
Individual relationships are used to describe connections between people. The system currently includes Husband, Wife, Son, Manager, Assistant, and Staff member.
The form for a new value displays the ID, names in Lithuanian and English, color, and display order. The list also shows the active status and default value status.
Editing and Deleting
- The pencil icon opens the value for editing.
- The trash can icon initiates deletion.
- Close discards unsaved changes made in the form.
- Save saves the changes.
Do not alter the meaning of the value when renaming it. Before deleting, verify that it is not being used in existing Contacts, relationships, filters, or integrations. Removing a value from a Contact and deleting it from the system settings are different actions. If the classifier value is already in use, it is safer to replace it in Contacts records or retain it for historical purposes until an administrator confirms the consequences of deletion.
How to check a created value
- Open Contacts → New record.
- Locate the relevant field for types, categories, or levels.
- Check the name and its position in the list.
- If you created a connection type, open the Related Contacts section of the relevant Contact.
- Close the form without saving if you are only verifying the selection.
