Formatting numbers, prices, and VAT

How to select numerical precision, currency formatting, and VAT calculation settings.

In the Settings → Finance → General settings section, you can select the number of decimal places for prices and quantities, the decimal and thousands separators, the currency symbol position, and the display of zero cents.

You can also set the default VAT rate and the initial price entry mode—with or without VAT—here. The Calculate VAT from the total amount option is available in the tabs for individual documents. It can help align cent rounding with an external document, but be sure to compare the final total before enabling it.

You can choose whether to display page numbers and the amount in words on the PDF. After changing the format, check at least one document that includes a whole number amount, cents, a larger quantity, and a discount. This allows you to verify that the screen display and the PDF look as expected.
