Inventory settings and their purpose

Where to find inventory settings and which warehouse process areas they control.

Last updated 20 days ago

You can find the inventory settings by selecting Settings → Inventory. This section appears when inventory management is enabled in your account, you are using the appropriate plan, and you have permission to view settings.

There are five main tabs here:

  • General settings – stock level control, reservations, number length, and default item type;
  • Stock movements – numbering, comments, and PDF details;
  • Stock transfers – numbering and creation of new stock items;
  • Stock adjustments – document numbering;
  • Stock counts – document numbering.

If you use the Manufacturing function, an additional numbering tab may appear. Warehouse creation and addresses are managed in a separate Warehouse Administration section.

Test the settings for stock levels, reservations, and automatic item creation using test documents first. These settings can alter the quantity available for sale and create new item cards.
